Amendment of the list of EAD references in the Official Journal

August 06, 2021

Did you know…

…that the list of references of European Assessment Documents published in the Official Journal of the European Union was amended?

On the 16th of July was published the Commission Implementing Decision (Eu) 2021/1183 amending the Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/450 as regards the publication of references of European Assessment Documents for certain construction products.

This update is carried out considering Regulation (EU) n.º 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011, laying down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products and repealing Council Directive 89/106/EEC(1), and in particular Article 22 which sets out that the European Assessment Documents adopted by the organization of Technical Assessment Bodies (TAB) shall be sent to the Commission, that publishes a list of references of the final European Assessment Documents in the Official Journal of the European Union.

According to Annex II of the regulation, as soon as the first European Technical Assessment (ETA) is issued by the responsible TAB on the basis of the adopted European Assessment Document, that European Assessment Document shall be adjusted, if appropriate, based on experiences gained. The organisation of TABs, EOTA, shall adopt the final European Assessment Document and shall send a copy thereof to the Commission for publication of its reference.

According to Article 19 of Regulation (EU) n.º 305/2011, in the sequence of several requests by manufacturers for European Technical Assessments, the organisation of Technical Assessment Bodies has drawn up and adopted 16 European Assessment Documents and one correction, which led to the update of the list of EAD’s references published in the Official Journal. The European Assessment Documents now drawn up and adopted by the Technical Assessment Bodies relate to the following construction products:
